For GROUP students:
Replacement lessons are generally not provided for group classes, as different classes and time slots follow different schedules. To help students keep up, we recap the previous lesson at the start of the next session and provide any notes or handouts so students can review the material independently.
For DUO students:
Replacement lessons can be arranged for Duo sessions, provided both participants agree on an alternative date. We ask for at least 72 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. Giving us advance notice allows us to offer the slot to another student and ensures your time slot does not go to waste. Make-up lessons should be completed by the originally scheduled final session to avoid ripple effects on the wider schedule.
For INDIVIDUAL students:
Replacement lessons can be arranged for individual lessons if we receive at least 72 hours’ notice. Providing advance notice allows us to offer the slot to another student and ensures your time slot does not go to waste.
What if it is not my fault that I had to cancel/reschedule the lesson last minute (due to work, family matters, etc)? Will I still be charged?
Sorry, but yes. We understand that emergencies happen. However, because lessons are scheduled in advance, we usually don’t have enough time to fill your spot with a replacement student. Last-minute cancellations are charged in consideration of the teacher’s time and to keep scheduling fair for everyone, ensuring the lesson slot is not wasted.
There is an article which explains the rationale much better than we can articulate. Check out Make-up Lessons From An Economist’s Point Of View.
